We need well-prepared nurse practitioners in the workforce. But in order to have them, we must provide them with hands-on clinical time with willing and qualified preceptors. But healthcare today makes that difficult. You might be willing to precept, but feel you deserve a little something for your time and expertise! Current research indicates more and more providers feel the same. Well, we happen to agree with you, and that is why we founded PreceptorLink®️. While we can't "pay you for your time," we can provide you with an honorarium to say thank you, and that is better than another coffee mug, we always say! So please become a PreceptorLink®️ preceptor. The students need you! And, thank you, for giving back to the next generation of nurse practitioners!
The difference between PreceptorLink®️ and other preceptor-matching companies: At PreceptorLink, the students we represent become a reflection of both our business and our profession. As such, we believe we have a responsibility to send only the most qualified and best students into clinical rotations. We do screen our students and try to take only the best candidates. If you have certain requirements for students, please note that, and we will only match you with students who meet those requirements. If there are certain prerequisites you require before a student starts at your clinical site, please let us know that as well. Our goal is to have satisfied preceptors who will be willing and confident about taking our students in the future. We value our preceptors!
Benefits and Reasons to Precept

Sharing your knowledge and experience through teaching can be very rewarding.
Precepting can help you stay up-to-date on clinical information and resources.
NP students can be used to inform and educate your patients.
NP students can assist in patient education development.

Patients are often impressed that sites are being utilized as "teaching facilities."
Nursing schools often provide incentives including: Access to school resources (Sports, theater, Up-To-Date, Epocrates...), adjunct faculty status, access to CE, opportunities to to take courses, and more. Ask us about preceptor incentives!
You may be able to earn accreditation credit.
It feels good to give back! After all, someone precepted you!
Precepting gives you the opportunity to give back to your community and help to teach the next generation of NPs
The process to become a PreceptorLink®️ preceptor is very simple: Fill out the form below, and you will be added to our database. When we reach out to you about a student whose needs you meet, you can always say no. (But we hope you will say yes!) You can review the student's resume or even interview him/her if you wish. If you agree to take the student, we will work with your site to help simplify the burdensome paperwork process and help coordinate the contracting process with the school. When all the paperwork is in place and the student starts, your honorarium is on its way to you! We value your privacy, and we promise to be respectful to you and your staff.
Talk to us about ways phone calls and paperwork can be reduced too! We understand the issues you face with precepting!
Don't feel comfortable being a paid preceptor? We can donate your honorarium to charity.
We all agree that we need to help train the next generation, but it is still nice to be recognized for the time and dedication you have to put into precepting. Precepting can be a lot of work! It takes time away from you and your office staff. An honorarium is better than another coffee mug! Or if you are opposed to taking an honorarium we will donate the amount to your favorite charity.
Some accrediting bodies allow credit for precepting. Check with your credentialing organization to see if yours is one of them.
